Telangana: “No Free Rice Without PM Modi’s Photo, No PMAY Homes Under Indiramma Name: Bandi Sanjay”

Union Minister of State for Home, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, launched a scathing attack on the Telangana government, criticizing its handling of housing schemes and its claims of attracting massive investments at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Addressing a public gathering in Karimnagar, the BJP leader raised concerns about transparency and accountability in key areas of governance.
Housing Scheme Controversy
Bandi Sanjay questioned the Telangana government’s decision to rebrand houses sanctioned under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) as part of the state’s ‘Indiramma’ housing scheme. He warned that such practices could lead to the central government withholding further approvals for housing projects in the state. “If the state government refuses to acknowledge PMAY, no houses will be sanctioned under this scheme,” he stated.
The Union Minister also highlighted the absence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s image on rice distribution schemes in Telangana, suggesting that if the state government did not recognize the central government’s role, the Centre might explore options for direct distribution.
Allegations on Investment Claims
Sanjay turned his attention to the Telangana government’s claims of signing Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth lakhs of crores at the Davos summit. Dismissing these claims as “humbug,” he alleged that less than 10% of the promised investments had materialized.
He challenged the government to publish a white paper detailing the actual investments received, the industries set up, and the number of jobs created through these MoUs. “It is time for the state government to come clean and share the real data with the public,” Sanjay demanded.
BRS Leaders Join BJP
In a significant political development, several leaders from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), including Karimnagar Municipal Corporation Mayor Sunil Rao and two corporators, joined the BJP during the event. Sanjay welcomed the leaders, praising their faith in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP’s ideology.
He emphasized that the party would only accept leaders with a clean track record, categorically stating that those involved in land-grabbing cases would not be admitted. “The BJP is committed to serving the people and promoting clean politics,” he added.
The Union Minister highlighted the development funds allocated to Karimnagar by the central government and expressed confidence that the BJP would emerge victorious in the upcoming Karimnagar Corporation elections.
With these remarks, Sanjay continued to position the BJP as a viable alternative to the ruling BRS in Telangana, aiming to build momentum ahead of the state’s next elections.
