Hyderabad: The Telangana State Cabinet, led by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, will convene at 10 AM on Tuesday, February 4, followed by the Assembly session at 11 AM. The meeting is expected to focus on crucial issues, including Backward Class (BC) reservations and the categorization of Scheduled Castes (SCs).
The State Planning Department, which recently conducted a caste survey, submitted its report to the Cabinet Sub-Committee on Sunday. The committee is chaired by State Civil Supplies Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy. Additionally, the one-man commission on SC categorization is scheduled to submit its findings on Monday, which will also play a key role in the discussions.
Given the significance of these reports, the government is expected to address the concerns of marginalized communities and explore policy measures to enhance their representation and welfare. The Assembly session is likely to witness extensive deliberations on these issues, shaping the state’s reservation policies.
The upcoming session marks a crucial phase in Telangana’s governance, as the Congress-led government looks to fulfill its poll promises, particularly in relation to social justice and empowerment. All eyes will be on the discussions and potential resolutions that emerge from the meeting and the subsequent Assembly session.
