Teenagers Die in Tragic Accident on Hyderabad’s Aramgarh Flyover

Hyderabad: In a heart-wrenching incident, three teenagers lost their lives in a late-night accident on the newly inaugurated Aramgarh flyover on the occasion of Shab-e-Meraj. The tragedy unfolded during the early hours of Tuesday, marking the first reported accident on the flyover since its opening earlier this month.
Accident Details
The victims, identified as Maaz (14), Imran (16), and Ahmed (14), were residents of Hyderabad’s Old City. According to the Attapur police, the teenagers were riding a speeding two-wheeler from the Old City toward Aramgarh between 12:30 am and 1:00 am.
Their joyride took a devastating turn when they lost control of the vehicle and collided with a streetlight pole and the divider. Maaz died on the spot, while Imran and Ahmed succumbed to their injuries on the way to the hospital.
Investigation Underway
Authorities have registered a case and launched an investigation to uncover the circumstances leading to the accident. An autopsy of the victims is being conducted, and the findings are expected to aid the investigation.
As all three victims were minors, the police are examining the situation from multiple angles, including the absence of adult supervision and the legality of their use of the vehicle.
Shab-e-Meraj Flyover Access
In previous years, major flyovers in Hyderabad were closed during Shab-e-Meraj for safety reasons. However, this year no such directive was issued, raising questions about whether additional safety measures could have prevented the incident.
Public Reaction
The accident has left the local community in shock, sparking conversations around road safety, the responsibilities of parents, and the dangers of minors riding vehicles without proper precautions.
Conclusion
This tragic event underscores the importance of road safety awareness and the need for stricter enforcement of traffic laws, especially concerning minors. The investigation is ongoing, and further details are awaited.
