Raja Singh Targets Akbaruddin Owaisi and Saif Ali Khan, Calls for Population Control Law

Kolhapur, Maharashtra – Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Goshamahal MLA Raja Singh stirred controversy during a public meeting in Kolhapur by targeting All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi and Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan. The MLA also used the platform to demand the implementation of a population control law in India.
Raja Singh Calls Saif Ali Khan a ‘Love Jihadi’
In a strongly worded statement, Raja Singh alleged that Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan is a “love jihadi.” He justified his remark by claiming the actor married multiple Hindu women, including Amrita Singh and Kareena Kapoor. Singh also accused the actor of marrying a woman in Italy before his current marriage to Kareena Kapoor, who he described as being of Saif’s daughter’s age.
Raja Singh further criticized an MLA who suggested that the recent attack on Saif Ali Khan might have been carried out by a Hindu, dismissing the claim as baseless.
Remarks Against Akbaruddin Owaisi
Raja Singh also targeted AIMIM floor leader and Chandrayangutta MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi, referencing the latter’s controversial “15-minute remark.” Singh said, “If Naga Sadhus are sent to Hyderabad, those who made the 15-minute comment will go to Pakistan.”
Singh’s statement alluded to previous communal tensions and was seen as an attack on the AIMIM leader’s provocative speeches.
Call for Population Control Law
During his speech, Singh also raised concerns about the alleged decline in the percentage of Hindus in Pakistan. He urged people to write to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, advocating for the implementation of a population control law in India.
“The population imbalance must be addressed to protect India’s demographic structure,” Singh stated, adding that such a law would ensure equitable growth and harmony in the country.
Controversial Comments Draw Criticism
Raja Singh’s remarks have drawn sharp criticism from opposition leaders and activists, who accused the BJP MLA of spreading communal hatred and stoking tensions. AIMIM leaders have yet to respond to Singh’s comments, while Bollywood has remained silent on his remarks about Saif Ali Khan.
A Pattern of Provocation
This is not the first time Raja Singh has courted controversy with his statements. Known for his hardline views, Singh has often been accused of making incendiary remarks that target specific communities.
As tensions rise following the MLA’s comments, political observers have raised concerns about the potential impact on communal harmony, particularly in regions with a history of sensitive interfaith relations.
