Hydraa Commissioner Assures Resolution of Lake Encroachment Issues Through FTL Determination

Hyderabad: In a move aimed at resolving pressing civic issues, Hydra Commissioner Shri A.V. Ranganath reaffirmed the critical importance of determining the Full Tank Level (FTL) of lakes in the Outer Ring Road (ORR) region to address complaints about encroachments and preserve public spaces. The assurance came during the Praja Vani public grievance session held at the Hydra office in Buddha Bhavan on Monday.

FTL Determination to Combat Encroachments

The Commissioner emphasized that once the FTL of all lakes is finalized, many disputes regarding lake and government land encroachments would be effectively resolved. He assured attendees that this comprehensive process would be completed within the next four to five months. Furthermore, he stated that strict measures would be taken to ensure no further encroachments occur on these lands in the future, signaling a clear commitment to preserving the city’s natural resources.

Resolving Public Complaints

The Praja Vani session witnessed 89 grievances brought forth by citizens, which the Commissioner personally reviewed between 11:00 AM and 7:30 PM. Shri Ranganath’s approach included assigning complaints to relevant officials for prompt action and pledging field-level investigations to address issues thoroughly. Many citizens expressed satisfaction with the process, praising the proactive measures taken by the Commissioner to resolve their concerns.

Detailed Examination of Encroachments

One of the session’s key highlights was the detailed scrutiny of complaints about encroachments on lakes, parks, and government lands. Shri Ranganath used technology, including Google Maps, Survey of India data, and National Remote Sensing (NRS) imagery, to provide transparent and factual explanations of the issues. These tools were instrumental in identifying unauthorized constructions and clarifying discrepancies, further bolstering public confidence in the administration’s efforts.

Preventing Future Encroachments

Shri Ranganath announced strict measures to prevent illegal construction in public spaces. He stated that any structure built on lakes, government lands, or parks without appropriate permissions after Hydra’s intervention would face immediate demolition. These measures aim to maintain the integrity of public lands and safeguard the city’s natural resources for future generations.

Comprehensive Survey in Ameenpur Municipality

The Commissioner also addressed multiple complaints from the Ameenpur region. He assured residents that a detailed survey of the Ameenpur municipality would be conducted to resolve their concerns. This step reflects the administration’s commitment to tackling issues in specific localities with a focused approach.

Public Response

The Hydra Commissioner’s decisive actions have instilled a renewed sense of hope among citizens. By prioritizing transparency, field-level investigations, and the use of technology, Shri Ranganath’s administration has demonstrated a robust commitment to resolving long-standing civic issues. The planned determination of FTLs and proactive measures against encroachments are expected to bring about significant improvements in the management of Hyderabad’s lakes and public spaces.

With these initiatives, the city moves closer to reclaiming its natural heritage and ensuring sustainable development.
