Ameenpur: The Ameenpur Municipality has initiated a comprehensive survey to resolve disputes surrounding lake boundaries and land encroachments. The survey, conducted by the Hydra Survey Team in collaboration with the Survey of India, the Revenue Department, and other relevant authorities, aims to demarcate lake outlines and address illegal occupations in the region.
Survey to Define Lake Boundaries
Authorities have faced long-standing complaints regarding unclear lake boundaries, leading to alleged encroachments. To resolve these concerns, the upcoming survey will ensure transparency and accuracy in determining the limits of lake lands. This step is expected to prevent further illegal occupations and protect areas designated for public use.
Encroachments Under Investigation
The Hydra Commissioner has assured swift action against individuals who have unlawfully occupied government lands and public spaces. Reports indicate that several plots originally meant for parks and utilities have been taken over illegally. The Hydra team is actively investigating these claims and will act against those found guilty of land grabbing.
Residents Raise Long-Standing Land Disputes
Residents from areas such as Iyalapur, Chakrapuri Colony, RTC Colony, and Venkataramana Colony have voiced concerns over encroachments affecting their properties. Many claim they have been fighting legal battles for decades to reclaim their plots, which were purchased legally in the 1980s but were later marked as government land.
According to representatives of the Iyalapur Rajagopal Nagar Association, multiple individuals, including a person named Mukheem, have allegedly been involved in fraudulent land sales. Victims claim their land has been illegally resold under false ownership claims, leaving them without a resolution despite court involvement.
Hydra Commissioner’s On-Site Investigation
In response to growing concerns, the Hydra Commissioner visited affected areas on Friday, personally inspecting encroached lands and listening to complaints from residents. He acknowledged the severity of the issue and promised a detailed investigation into illegal occupations, particularly in cases involving marginalized communities such as SC, ST, and BC landowners.
Government Measures Against Encroachers
To strengthen efforts against encroachments, the government has established a new Hydra Police Station dedicated to handling land-related disputes. The Commissioner emphasized that strict action will be taken based on survey findings, ensuring legitimate landowners retain their rights.
The survey will be conducted in the presence of relevant officials and is expected to provide clarity on property ownership while safeguarding public lands. The initiative aligns with Hydra’s broader mission to protect government lands and prevent unauthorized occupations, ensuring they remain available for public use and development.
Residents await further updates on the survey’s progress and hope for a resolution to their long-standing land disputes.
