Dr. Manmohan Singh Expressway: Hyderabad’s Aramgarh-Zoo Park Flyover Officially Named
(GHMC) has officially approved the naming of the Aramgarh to Zoo Park flyover on National Highway 44 as the Dr. Manmohan Singh Expressway.

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has officially approved the naming of the Aramgarh to Zoo Park flyover on National Highway 44 as the Dr. Manmohan Singh Expressway. The decision was finalized on Thursday during a Standing Committee meeting chaired by Hyderabad Mayor Gadwal Vijayalaxmi.
Spanning an impressive 4.04 kilometers, this bi-directional flyover is now the second-longest in Hyderabad and serves as a vital link connecting Aramgarh to Zoo Park. Designed to ease traffic congestion, the flyover has already improved vehicular flow across multiple neighborhoods, and new ramp constructions are expected to further enhance connectivity.
Ramps to Improve Traffic Flow
To bolster its functionality, additional ramps are being constructed at key locations:
- Janata Petrol Pump: A ramp is being built for traffic traveling from Danama Jhopdi and Shastripuram towards Aramgarh.
- Hasan Nagar X-Road: Another ramp is underway to accommodate traffic moving from Aramgarh towards Hasan Nagar, Danama Jhopdi, and Shastripuram.
These ramps are expected to significantly reduce congestion in busy areas like Shastripuram, Hasan Nagar, and surrounding neighborhoods.
Proposals for New Infrastructure Approved
During the same Standing Committee meeting, several proposals aimed at modernizing Hyderabad’s road infrastructure were approved. Among the key projects:
- Steel Flyover and Underpass: Plans for a steel flyover and underpasses at critical junctions, including Jubilee Hills Check Post Junction, KBR Park Entrance Junction, and Mugdha Junction, were given the green light. These projects aim to streamline traffic flow in some of the city’s busiest zones.
A Step Towards Improved Urban Mobility
The Dr. Manmohan Singh Expressway is poised to become a landmark in Hyderabad’s growing infrastructure network. With its strategic ramps and connectivity enhancements, the flyover not only promises to improve commuting experiences but also underscores the city’s commitment to urban development.
Once operational, the upgraded flyover and accompanying ramps are expected to transform daily travel for thousands of commuters, providing a smoother and faster travel experience in Hyderabad’s bustling corridors.
