Cyberabad Police Issues Work-From-Home Advisory Amid Heavy Rain Alert

Hyderabad — As heavy rains lash Hyderabad and surrounding regions, the Cyberabad Police has issued an advisory urging companies and organizations in its jurisdiction to implement Work-from-Home (WFH) measures for Wednesday, July 23.

The advisory comes in light of an official weather alert predicting intense rainfall that could disrupt normal life across parts of the city. Authorities are emphasizing the need to prioritize public safety and minimize unnecessary travel during the adverse weather conditions.

The Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Cyberabad, highlighted that the recommendation aims to reduce road congestion, maintain uninterrupted emergency services, and ensure the safety of employees and citizens amid unpredictable weather patterns.

“We urge IT companies, private firms, and corporate offices to allow employees to work remotely today to avoid traffic snarls and ensure their well-being. This will also help emergency services move without hindrance during critical hours,” the advisory stated.

Parts of Hyderabad, including areas under the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate—such as Gachibowli, Madhapur, and Kondapur—have already experienced waterlogging and slowed traffic due to overnight showers. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for the city, warning of more intense downpours throughout the day.

City residents are also advised to avoid non-essential travel, stay updated with weather alerts, and report any rain-related emergencies to local authorities promptly.

As the city braces for further rainfall, civic bodies and traffic personnel remain on high alert to manage the evolving situation. Companies that have already adopted WFH arrangements report that the proactive advisory has helped maintain productivity while keeping employees safe.

Further updates are expected as the situation develops.
